FAQ

How do you know what size roller skates to get?
If this is your first purchase of skates, you need to know of few facts that will help you in choosing the right size for yourself or family. Buying roller skates is like purchasing a pair of shoes.

The skates on this website are mostly in men’s sizes. It is typical that the ladies go down one size. For example, a lady with a size 7 shoe would get a size 6. A man would get the same as their shoe size.

If you are a half size, like a 7 1/2 , you should order a size 7 skate since there is no half sizes in most skates. With that said we recommend you use the size charts on this website. On each skate page is a chart and also in the drop down we post sizes.

Skate Fitting Guide

Step 1

On a hard surface, tape a piece of blank paper to the floor and attach it flush against the wall. Stand up straight with your foot on the paper and heel against the wall.

Step 2

Mark the longest part of your foot (heel-to-toe length) and widest part of your foot on the paper with a pen or pencil. Make sure your pen is held vertically, not at an angle. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left feet may be different sizes.

Step 3

Use a ruler to measure the heel-to-toe length and width measurement for each foot. Take these measurements in mm and write them down so you can share them with us over the phone, email or via chat.

Email us at orders@tzzz.ca for this info and we will send you a form with all the info and pictures how to proceed.

Should skates fit tight or loose?
The fit itself should be very snug, allowing you to stay in control of movements. Very snug doesn't mean uncomfortable: You should still be able to wiggle your toes, and there shouldn't be any pressure points. Find the right fit. Whenever possible go and try skates on locally if possible. Just like a pair of shoes all skates feel and fit differently.

What happens if my skates are too big?
If your skates are too big, you will not have proper control , it will affect your movement and you will feel pain which will only end when you get the proper size skates. A skate that is too large will cause blisters, hammertoes, bunions or calluses which come from the constant irritation which in turn gives you constant foot pain.

What skates should a beginner start with?
It has been said Inline skates tend to offer better ankle support and more speed, but quad skates are better for overall stability. Inlines are generally easier for beginners to learn with, but quad skates are both highly customizable and better for artistic movements like dancing or spinning.
